Ben and I spent a chilly December weekend in a yurt about an hour south of Portland. We had a blast cooking on the cast-iron wood stove, playing scrabble, walking in the snow and just getting a chance to relax together. We hope to go back when it isnt snowing sometime as they have gold panning, hikes, waterfalls and all sorts of other fun things to do around there. The only bad part was that Ben and I were both pretty sick... so we spent alot of the time blowing our noses and coughing.

On our way to the Yurt at Camp Dakota! :)

Eating Tom Kha soup from Sweet Basil reheated on the stove. Mmmmm.

Ben heating up that soup!

Ahhhh, what a great WARM fire! :)

The next morning... we awoke to snow!

My car with the Yurt behind it! :)

You can rent these teepees too... although... they would not be very much fun in the cold snow. You sleep on the ground inside!!

Back to the warmth of our Yurt after walking around all day!

Our table with the scrabble board, ricola cough drops, apple cider and tea..

A short stop in Oregon City to warm up with some hot drinks!

When we got back, we just had to go out for a lovely sushi dinner. A new place opened up in town and we thought we would go check it out.
Bamboo Sushi has some of the best fish I have ever tasted. The salmon was AMAZING. :)
